Privacy policy
Effective November 4, 2026
Change of November 4, 2026: this version adds Resend to our providers. Resend sends Vita Movet's emails, including the invitation to install the app after the welcome questionnaire. It receives your email address and first name, never health information.
In short
- We collect what we need to design your program and track your training, including information about your health.
- Your data is hosted in Québec. Some of our providers are American companies.
- We sell nothing, show no ads and use no analytics tools.
- You can access, correct or delete your information by writing to [email protected].
Who we are
Vita Movet is a personalized fitness training service offered through a mobile app (Android and iOS) and this website. The service is operated by Amélie Tremblay Gagnon, a trainer based in Québec.
This policy applies to the Vita Movet app and to the vitamovet.com website. The service is offered to people aged 14 and over. Between 14 and 17, the subscription and the participation agreement are entered into with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 14.

What we collect
We collect information directly from you: when you fill out the welcome questionnaire on this website, when you create your account, when you tell us about your situation, and when you use the app.
| Category | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Account | Your email address, your name and your password. The password is stored in an encrypted form that no one can read back, including us. |
| Welcome questionnaire | Your answers to the questionnaire on this website: your first name, your email address, your goal, your week, your equipment, your preferences and, if you consent, your health information. |
| Health and fitness | What you share with us so that your program is safe: medical history, injuries, limitations, goals. These details may appear in your program's notes. This is sensitive information. |
| Training | Your program, the workouts and sets you check off, their dates, and the loads you record. |
| Messages | Your conversations with your trainer in the app. |
| Coach preferences | The name, style, tone and instructions you choose for the app's coach. |
| Feedback | The comments you submit in the app and, if you attach one, the image. We automatically add the app version, the platform and the screen the comment came from, so that we can reproduce a problem. |
| Technical data | Our host's sign-in logs, which include the IP address. When it starts, the app checks whether an update is available: this check sends the operating system and a random identifier specific to the installation, which does not identify you and changes if you reinstall the app. |
What we do not collect: your location, your contacts, your photos (except an image you choose to attach to feedback), or any advertising identifier. The colour theme you choose stays on your phone. This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics tools.
Why we collect it
We use your information only for the following purposes:
- to design and deliver your training program;
- to communicate with you about your coaching;
- to track your progress in order to adjust your program;
- to keep your training safe, taking your injuries and limitations into account;
- to manage our relationship: your account and, when the time comes, your subscription;
- to improve the quality of our programs and of the app, using aggregated or de-identified data;
- to respond to your feedback and fix the problems you report in the app.
For this last purpose, we do no individual profiling, no measurement of your behaviour in the app, and we use no third-party analytics tools.
No marketing without your consent. If we ever wanted to write to you for promotional purposes, we would ask you separately. Saying no would change nothing about your service.
We use tools to prepare programs, but no decision about you is made by fully automated processing: a trainer reviews and adjusts every program before it is sent to you.
Your consent
Your health information is sensitive: we ask for your express consent before collecting it. On the welcome questionnaire, the health section only opens after this consent, and the questionnaire cannot be sent without it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. Without this information, however, we cannot design a safe program, and withdrawing it will end the coaching.
Who has access to your information
On our side: only your trainer has access to your training file. The app is built so that each person sees only their own data, and a trainer sees only the data of the people they coach.
The feedback you submit in the app is read by Vita Movet's technical support team. It is kept on a server we operate ourselves, in Québec, separate from the app's database.
Answers to the welcome questionnaire are read by your trainer. They are kept on a server that Vita Movet operates in Québec, separate from the app's database.
Our providers process information on our behalf, only to deliver the service. They are not allowed to use it for their own purposes.
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts the database and the accounts. Servers located in Montréal (AWS Canada Central region). |
| Expo (650 Industries) | Builds the app and distributes its updates. Receives the technical data from the update check described above, and no training data. |
| Cloudflare | Hosts this website and carries the feedback submitted in the app to our server, as well as the answers to the welcome questionnaire. Receives the IP address and can technically access the content it carries. |
| Resend | Sends Vita Movet's emails: password reset code, invitation to install the app, notice that your program is ready. Receives the email address and first name, never health information. |
| Apple and Google | Distribute the app and, once subscriptions open, will collect the payment. We never receive your card number. |
We do not sell, rent or share your information with anyone for advertising purposes. We only disclose it to a third party with your consent, or where the law requires or allows it, for example in an emergency that threatens your life or health.
Disclosure outside Québec
Your data is stored in Québec. However, Supabase, Expo, Cloudflare and Resend are American companies: their staff may access systems from outside Québec to maintain them, and United States law may compel these companies to disclose data they host, even in Canada.
Before entrusting information to a provider located outside Québec, we assess the risks to your privacy and govern the relationship with a written agreement, as required by section 17 of Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector.
How we protect it
- Data is encrypted in transit and on our host's servers.
- Rules enforced by the database itself limit each access to what it needs to see, and nothing more.
- Images attached to feedback are kept with the feedback, on our server, and never published.
- Our feedback server can only be reached over an encrypted channel, and only by a person signed in to the app.
- No sharing is turned on by default.
If a confidentiality incident presents a risk of serious injury, we notify Québec's Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned.
How long we keep it
| Information | Period |
|---|---|
| Account, program, training, messages, preferences | For the duration of the coaching, then 12 months after it ends. It is then destroyed or anonymized. You can ask for it to be deleted sooner. |
| Feedback | One year after it is closed. It is then anonymized: your identity and the attached image are deleted. You can ask for it to be deleted sooner. |
| Participation agreement and medical clearance, when collected | 3 years after the coaching ends, which is the limitation period set by the Civil Code of Québec (art. 2925). These documents show that the service was delivered properly. |
| Technical logs | The limited period set by the host, then deleted automatically. |
Your rights
- Access: know what information we hold about you and get a copy, including in a structured format you can reuse.
- Correction: have inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous information corrected.
- Withdrawal of consent: withdraw your consent to the use of your information.
- Deletion: have your account and your data deleted. Only the documents whose retention is described above are kept, until the end of their period.
To exercise a right, write to [email protected]from your account's email address. We reply in writing no later than 30 days after receiving your request. Account deletion will also become available directly in the app.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact Québec'sCommission d'accès à l'information. If you live elsewhere in Canada, you can contact theOffice of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy, we publish a notice on this page and in the app before the new version takes effect. A change of purpose will be asked of you: it will not apply without your consent.
People living in the United States will also find ourconsumer health data privacy policy (United States).
